Salmon Trips (July-Sept)
|
Ocean Salmon:
We begin fishing ocean salmon in early July
when large schools of Silvers and Chinooks can be found
feeding on baitfish along the coast. This can be some of the fastest salmon
action around.
We fish a variety of methods including trolling, mooching, casting and
bobbers. Silver salmon (Coho) are also hooked using some of these methods.
Silvers awesome fighters and provide great table fair.
The season starts out with fish weighing from
6-10 pounds each and by early September the larger silvers in the 15-18
pound class are being caught.
Chinooks are available trolling and mooching
during this season and range from 12 -30 pounds on average with many in the
40's and 50's.. They are chrome bright and will challenge any angler.
